The Republic of Borusha is a very large, safe nation, notable for its ubiquitous missile silos, national health service, and restrictive gun laws. The quiet, industrious population of 267 million Borushans are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The enormous, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 64.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Borushan economy, worth 6.73 trillion Gadežs a year, is quite specialized and led by the Furniture Restoration industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Tourism, and Cheese Exports. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 25,212 Gadežs, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Borusha recently hosted the least successful trade negotiations since The Phantom Menace, postmen have been arrested in job lots for selling junk mail as home insulation, the term cold case has taken on a very literal meaning, and Maxtopian villagers starve by the time Borushan officials even file the appropriate paperwork needed to help them. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Borusha's national animal is the Gray Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Borusha is ranked 93,139th in the world and 1,638th in the South Pacific for Most Cultured, scoring 67 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
